A vendor review should connect a company’s statements with evidence you can evaluate. Broad assurances about speed and quality are less useful than a clear description of the work, who owns it and which documents support it.
Coverage and assignment fit
- Which states and property types can the AMC support today?
- How is appraiser suitability evaluated?
- How are unusual assignments discussed before acceptance?
Ask for current information rather than inferring coverage from a map.
Independence and quality
- What written policies describe communication and independence?
- What does review cover, who performs it and how are questions resolved?
- Does the described review apply to every report or only selected reports?
Exceptions and communication
- Who owns an active order?
- What happens if access fails, scope changes or a delivery expectation changes?
- How does an issue reach the person who can resolve it?
Ask for a practical explanation rather than a response-time promise without supporting evidence.
Documents and systems
Request the registration, insurance, continuity and security information your own review requires. Clarify document currency, availability, secure delivery and any system integration dependencies. A website list is not proof that a document is ready to download.
Appraiser relationships
How are scope, fees, revision requests and payment terms communicated? Those arrangements affect whether an appraiser can make an informed decision about an assignment.
