Appraisals for REO and loss-mitigation decisions.
When a loan is in default or a property has come back to the lender, the valuation supports a different kind of decision. Avisso provides appraisals for real estate owned (REO) and loss-mitigation purposes. Tell us about the property and the decision it supports.

When it applies
Two situations, two different decisions.
Loss mitigation
When a borrower has fallen behind on payments, a servicer may consider options such as a modification or short sale. The valuation helps show the property’s current value for the decision being considered.
Real estate owned
The property has come back to the lender after foreclosure. The valuation supports decisions about repairs, marketing and disposition.
What helps us discuss the assignment.
Default and vacant properties often raise access and condition questions.Sharing access and condition details early helps the appraiser plan the inspection.
- 01 Address and occupancy Whether the property is occupied, vacant or secured.
- 02 Access arrangements Lockbox, keys or a contact who can open the property.
- 03 Known condition issues Damage, deferred maintenance or repairs already underway.
- 04 The decision and any instructions What the valuation supports, plus any client or investor requirements.
